Best practices shaping the sustainability and future of messaging
Taking a cross-ecosystem approach, MEF’s Future of Messaging Programme brings together all stakeholders in the mobile messaging ecosystem, to achieve a common goal to promote and accelerate best practices in order to limit fraudulent behaviours and identify new opportunities for enterprise messaging. The self-funded initiative is part of MEF’s ongoing commitment to advocate industry best practice and self-regulation across the mobile ecosystem.
Enterprise Messaging performs an essential role as a critical communication channel – building user relationships, delivering customer updates, alerts, authentication etc. Something about growth. The market faces some key challenges, changes and opportunities, including:
- Fraudulent practices undermining market value
- Commoditisation – buyers do not always perceive the benefits of using trusted routes
- Evolving regulatory landscape
- Changing dynamics – new technologies and market entrants
- New use cases from across ever-expanding enterprises and sectors
MEF’s Future of Messaging Programme was founded in 2015 to help its participants address the challenges through collaboration and leverage new business opportunities via two dedicated workstreams Fraud Management and Market Development, and in 2018 launched its Trust in Enterprise Messaging service.
